“Head above water” is the 4th solo album for Craig Atkins, a blend of Folk, Roots/ Blues & Alt Country, with lyrical content inspired from his journeys across Australia over the past few years (pre lockdown), as well as the challenges of life faced when losing loved ones, mixed with balancing the continued reflection of rewards versus regrets, as well as through to the observations of others and the evolving world around us.
Musically this album is a stripped back and minimal layered recording, with the intent to capture a live in studio feel with vocals and guitar recorded together, then percussion layered to enhance the groove.
